Eva Fu is a Falun Dafa practitioner at the University of Washington. Her father, Fu Xin’ge (付新革), was arrested on September 19, 2018, according to reports from Minghui.org, a website dedicated to reporting on the Falun Gong community worldwide. A major part of Minghui’s work is to track the disappearances and deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in China during this time of persecution.
On August 29th, Falun Dafa practitioners at the University of Texas at Arlington attended the Maverick Cook-Out and Activity Fair Day where they introduced Falun Dafa to students and showed a video demonstration of the exercises. Many students stopped by to learn more and signed up to receive more information.
At Arizona State University, the Falun Dafa Club welcomed new students as a part of a larger event on campus on August 14 and 15th. Many students stopped at the Falun Dafa booth and signed up to be notified about upcoming club activities.

In Nebraska, Falun Gong practitioners protested the Our Body: The Universe Within exhibit, which showcases the inner workings of human anatomy with real preserved bodies. Investigators have raised concerns that the bodies are being heavily sourced from China, which means they likely come from unethical sources, including murdered Falun Gong practitioners.

At the University of Washington, students were treated with a screening of “Badass Beauty Queen” which tells the story of Anastasia Lin, an actress and human rights activist who decided to use beauty pageants as her platform to share an important message.

At Georgia Tech, students screened a new one-hour documentary, Badass Beauty Queen on April 12. The film follows Miss World Canada, Anastasia Lin, and her unwavering determination to stick to her conscience in the face of intimidation from an oppressive regime. Anastasia’s commitment to publicizing human rights abuses landed her coverage in The New York Times, speaking engagements at the National Press Club, United Nations, and a meeting with the Dalai Lama — in addition to the support of thousands of young women (21,000 followers on Facebook) who were inspired by her tenacity. After the film screening, Anastasia answered questions from the audience.
On March 29th, students at the University of Texas at Arlington screened the award-winning film Free China: The Courage to Believe. The documentary raises awareness about the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. A panel of speakers spoke after the screening.

Falun Gong practitioners were invited to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (Penn Museum) on January 27, 2018, for an event celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year. Practitioners demonstrated the exercises for crowds of visitors, and footage of the practitioners was featured on a network TV station’s report on the event.

Tammy Depilteau could not help her tears, standing in front of the painting titled “The Crime of Forced Organ Harvesting.”
The painting was part of the exhibition of some 30 artworks in the “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance International Art Exhibition” held at the University of Alberta, Canada on November 22-24. The artworks reflect the principles of the ancient cultivation practice of Falun Gong and expose the 18-year persecution of Falun Gong in China.
